Wicker Park General Store Combines Yesteryear Feel With Environmental Sustainability

November 2, 2016 -There's a new pop-up shop at 2124 w Division. And if you love retailers and manufacturers who look to protect the environment, you're going to love Evil Eye Mercantile.

Your friendly neighborhood General Store is now eco-friendly and environmentally aware. With an eye towards convenience and sustainability, the Evil Eye Mercantile pop-up shop is a new neighborhood shop in Wicker Park that combines the spirit of general stores of yesteryear with products that are: made in the US, cruelty-free, organic and/or vegan. You won't find products tested on animals in this new spot. They look for lines that offer sustainability while using renewable energies and natural ingredients. You'll also find hand-selected products here made by American Indian owned and operated businesses.

And, as if that weren't enough, Evil Eye Mercantile "gives back" by donating 5% of every sale to a cause that's near and dear to their participating vendors and manufacturers.

Evil Eye Mercantile offers everything from soaps to lotions, shaving supplies, shampoos, lozenges, lip balms, candles, jam, antique items and teas. So you can indulge in everyday items or find a perfect gift knowing the people behind the products are protecting the environment and its inhabitants.

If all goes well, Wicker Park's eco-friendly General Store could become a permanent shop in early Spring 2017. For additional information head to their website www.evileyemercantile.com or their Facebook page

Evil Eye Mercantile is located at 2124 W. Division Street in Wicker Park. Hours are Tuesdays through Sundays from 12:00pm - 7:00pm and the store will be open through November 27, 2016.
