Chef Rick Bayless Announces Plans for Wicker Park Restaurant

Updated: November 13, 2013

We reported over the weekend that Rick Bayless is opening a neighborhood version of XOCO March 2014. Eater Chicago obtained a few more details this week about the new space at 1471 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park. While the cuisine will be similar to XOCO, the space is much larger. That means the new Wicker Park location will host a bar and be more comfortable than the River North location. The new space in Wicker Park will also offer both table service and local beer.

Bayless's vision for the Salud space includes a family-friendly eatery that offers a comfortable setting for people who either live in the neighborhood or are coming to the neighborhood for its entertainment. The Chef is also moving much more quickly on construction which means his new Wicker Park restaurant could open as early as the beginning of March 2014.
