Recycle Your Christmas Trees - Naked Trees Only, Please.

Don't throw that tree in the garbage. Recycle Recycle Recycle.

Why let your Christmas tree end up as landfill when it can be recycled? Christmas trees are being picked up and recycled throughout the city of Chicago. After being picked up,  they're used as mulch which is given away for free later in the year. So it's not only goodwill; it's good for the environment. Beginning on January 7, 2019 free mulch will be available at 6 designated locations.

The City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District offer tree recycling at 25 locations in Chicago. You can find a full list of those 25 locations HERE. Naked trees only please. That means no tinsel. lights or decorations.

You've got plenty of time to recycle. Drop off locations will be open from Saturday January 5, 2019 and will stay open for you procrastinators until January 19, 2019.
