2014 edition featuring Chicago's (Inaugural) New Orleans Festival!

Chicago Fashion Fest, now in its sixth season, will shut down West Division Street on August 23rd & 24th to bring fashionistas, families and fest-lovers alike two days of non-stop local fashion, live music and entertainment - topped off with a little Creole spice!  Chicago Fashion Fest 2014 has paired with Chicago's inaugural New Orleans Festival, aiming to turn the destination corridor in Wicker Park into a Mecca for fashion and shopping mixed with Big Easy music and food.

"It's going to be a showcase of innovative, emerging talent," says Chicago Fashion Fest creator Michelle Gomez, owner of M.GO Fashion Company.  "We are trend-setting at the hyper local level."

The "threading" of the two events, Chicago Fashion Fest featuring Chicago's New Orleans Festival, takes place on Division from Damen to Paulina from noon to 10 pm.  Like last year, Chicago Fashion Fest boasts a massive, runway stage with bleaches, where Chicago models will strut their stuff wearing "what's hot" for end of summer and fall 2014 - collections from local designers, boutiques, and artists (including Prin by Prina, Gabriella Zwick, M.GO Fashion, Le Dress Boutique, Angeliques Boutique Elevenzees and much more).  The weekend presentations will be hosted by Natalie Martinez from NBC CHICAGO.  Over 20 unique fashion runway shows (15-20 minutes each) will be included over the two days, including segments like: vintage, back-to-school, curvaceous, bridal, 'Do-Fashion' featuring Division Street boutiques and Kids Rock sponsored by Smash Talent   Refer to www.chicagofashionfest.com for the full runway schedule.

The highlight of Chicago Fashion Fest will be the dazzling runway shows each night starting at 8 pm called Wicker Park after Dark - charity-hosted red carpet extravaganzas that attract paparazzi, VIPs and celebs (in addition to the general public).  Jaslene Gonzalez, former winner of "America's Next Top Model" will host the red carpet, where Chicago fashion socialiteswill be red carpet guests.  The VIP Fashion Lounge sponsored by Lagunitas, Division Streets Eateries and a Luxe Beauty Bag is where the who's who of Chicago's fashion scene will rub elbows during Wicker Park after Dark shows.

Chicago Fashion Fest on Division Street will also include an on-site "Shopper's Row," home to up to 50 exclusive booths of local fashion designers, boutiques, and salons from the neighborhood.  In addition, a dedicated kiddie fest area will include face painting, temporary tattoos, bounce houses - typical kids street fest draws - all with a fashion-skewed emphasis.  All this not to be outdone by a Doggie Fashion Show and Dog Fest with activities, vendors and treats for Man's Best Friend sponsored by Canine Crew.

Chicago's New Orleans Festival within Chicago Fashion Fest will feature lots of Big Easy eats and tunes, including a headline performance by Grammy award-winning Buckwheat Zydeco direct from Louisiana bayou country.  Among the food vendors will be Chef Maurice serving up chicken sausage, jambalaya shrimp and fried alligator dishes. Then there's N'Awlins Edibles with their Cajun-Creole cuisine. There will also be craft beers, wine, sangria and local artists at the event.

The live music stage schedule is as follows:

12:30 and 2:15 p.m.  Le Travaillant (Cajun tunes)

(Two sets)

4:30 p.m.  Steamin Barracudas (zydeco)

6:30 p.m.  Low Down Brass Band (high-energy big band funk)

8:30 p.m.  Buckwheat Zydeco
