Annual Holiday Bazaar For A Good Cause

Buy your holiday gifts and feel good knowing your money is going to great organizations and local artists around the city. 

The event is FREE and open to the public. The Holiday Bazaar will include music, local food vendors such as Antique Taco and Blue Sky Bakery & Cafe and more, beverages from Marz Community Brewing Letherbee DistillersGaslight Coffee Roasters, and Whole Foods Market Chicago, and wares from local artists and vendors who use repurposed materials, sustainable supplies, and offer job training programs. We will also offer a Scraptacular workshop to make ornaments out of repurposed materials for $5 per ornament.

Some of the vendors this year include: Co-op SauceBergloFoundRe: Furnishings , Bright EndeavorsMolly Costello Art & DesignSOBU Artist ProjectDrug Factory PressRenascentwood and Resketch, among others.

Proceeds from the goods sold will benefit the local makers themselves, and donations from beverages will benefit the Rebuilding Exchange. The Rebuilding Exchange’s mission is to create a market for reclaimed building materials. They do this by diverting materials from landfills and making them accessible for reuse through a retail warehouse open to the public, by promoting sustainable deconstruction practices, housing a job training program for those with barriers to employment, and by providing education through workshops and events. Since its inception, it has diverted over 9,000 tons of material from the landfill and trained over 82 individuals in deconstruction and warehousing.

The Rebuilding Exchange is located at 1740 W. Webster and the event is being hosted from 6:30pm -9:30pm on Friday December 12th.
