Wicker Park's New Hotel - Reveals Inside Peek Into Rooms, Pool

Announcing earlier that they would be opening in November 2016, The Robey is ready to reveal a sneak peek into the rooms and amenities. Opening at 1600 N. Milwaukee Avenue, The Robey (formerly known as the Northwest Tower and the Coyote Building) has been transitioning from office building with first floor commercial space to boutique hotel. The transformation has taken almost 3 years and has well-exceeded their original budget of $22 million dollars.

So what can you expect to find in Wicker Park's new hotel? The Robey combines 1930's architecture with sleek contemporary rooms. Belgium-based designers Nicolas Schuybroek Architects and Marc Merckx Interiors, are the team behind the interior design. The Robey will offer amenities not traditionally found in small neighborhood hotels; like 2 restaurants (Cafe Robey), a rooftop bar and swimming pool next to the bar.

You'll find 89 rooms in all with 20 of those rooms available in the adjacent Hollander Fireproof Warehouse at 1618 N. Milwaukee Avenue. Rates will be $150 to $250 per night in The Robey with rates being 20-30% less in the Hollander Fireproof Warehouse.

All rooms will offer hardwood floors and original wood doors. The Northwest Tower was built in 1928-1929 and was one of the first skyscrapers built outside of the downtown area of Chicago.

A spokesperson for the hotel confirmed The Robey will be operated by Mexico-based chain Grupo Habita. For additional information regarding room availability and rates, head to their website at therobey.com.
