Runa, Japanese, To Open in Wicker Park in August
After just a year, The Lazy Parrot closed up shop at 2257 W. North Avenue. That location has been a tough spot for many Wicker Park eateries. But Runa is going to give it a try.
According to a report published by DNAInfo, Runa is setting up shop at North and Oakley and will feature sushi, Japanese noodle dishes, Chinese fried rice, and dim sum; Chinese small plates. The focal point of the dim sum menu will be Har Gow; traditional Chinese dumplings stuffed with roasted pork, shrimp, chicken, mushrooms, cabbage and water chestnuts.
Runa's sushi menu will include 25 individual sushi and sashimi pieces, 30 varieties of rolls or maki and 17 specialty chef rolls.
Apparently, chicken feet may also be included on the menu. According to owner and chef, Henry Zhang, chicken feet are a delicacy.
The 2,600 foot space will accommodate 40-50 people and approximately 5 seats at the sushi bar.
Look for Runa to open as early as August.
