Gratto is Open for Business
The neighborhood is always changing with new restaurants and bars opening almost every week. We sincerely appreciate your input regarding the new openings you see. At long last Gratto has opened their doors! This week Gratto will be hosting a soft opening with the hours fluctuating a little bit from day to day as they ramp up for business. Everything should be 100% by the weekend.
What's Gratto? Gratto is a cozy BYOB Italian deli is focused on sandwiches (including subs), salads and specialty pizzas. The deli is packed with imported and domestic meats, cheeses and olives. In true deli style, you'll find sandwiches like turkey and cheese, corned beef and cheese, proscuitto and fresh mozzarella. And for vegetarians, you can sink your teeth into a roasted veggie and eggplant.
The interior is warm and cozy and in the warmer months, you may even find a couple of tables outdoors.

Eater Chicago is reporting on 2 new hot spots scheduled to open on North Avenue in Wicker Park in the very near future.
The Storefront Company - Owners of Debonair Social Club -- Claudia Gassel and Steve Harris -- have partnered with Executive Chef Bryan Moscatello to bring foie gras to North Avenue. They are hoping to open by the end of this year with a focus on fresh, seasonal menus.
The Trenchermen - The Trenchermen has been in the works for a while and is heading to the space on North Avenue formerly the home of Spring (2039 W. North Avenue). Chefs and brothers, Mike and Patrick Sheerin, are working with co-owners of Bangers & Lace (Matt Eisler & Kevin Heisner) with a target date to open some time next year.
