Gastropub To Replace Jerry's Sandwiches in Wicker Park

Wicker Wire: Another bar is heading to Division Street. If all goes as planned, a new gastropub will be open by the end of 2016 at 1938 W. Division Street according to a report published by DNAInfo. Real estate developer Zafer Genc from Park Ridge has bought the liquor license and the public place of amusement license from Jerry's Sandwiches and recently signed a 10 year lease for the 4,500 square foot space just East of Damen Avenue.

Although very early in the concept stage, Genc plans to feature music genres from country to salsa to jazz and reggae. The goal is to feature live bands 90% of the time but DJs may spin during happy hour or on a day when a live act hasn't been booked. A new name is not forthcoming but according to reports the interior design for the space will be a combination of rustic and industrial. The interior will be revamped entirely offering a more open flow.  Genc is also hoping to serve lunch, brunch and dinner with the fare extending beyond traditional bar food.

Jerry's Sandwiches is set to close on September 24, 2016 in Wicker Park.
