Wicker Park Call For Artists
Have you ever dreamed of having your beautiful art on display for thousands to see? Here's your chance. The Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce and the Special Service Area #33 for the Wicker Park
and Bucktown neighborhoods of Chicago, are requesting proposals for a new public art installation that will engage the community.
The public art installation will be located at the highly visible very busy intersection of Milwaukee Avenue at Wood Street. So your work will have plenty of visibility.
Goal of the work: The team behind the request is looking for an installation that will create a visual identity that helps to brand the neighborhood, catches the attention of residents and visitors, and inspires creative thought. The installation may include way-finding, landscaping and other site-specific features that reference the Wicker Park and Bucktown communities.
All proposals are due by November 18, 2016. A committee comprised of Chicago arts professionals will select five finalists. The finalists will receive $1,000 to create a maquette. The maquettes will be publicly displayed and a final selection of one proposal will be made.
