Holiday Train 2016 Heads Back To The Blue Line

November 22, 2016 - One of our favorite little holiday 'happenings' in the neighborhood, the CTA's Holiday Train is heading back to the Blue Line in December. The CTA has announced the schedule for the whole season across all lines and the Holiday Train will be back in our neighborhood on December 8th - December 10th, 2016.

It's always really fun to see the train heading down the tracks decorated with garland and ribbons on the inside and thousands of lights on the outside. It truly looks stunning at night. Santa and his reindeer ride the open part of the middle of the train (crazy for sure) and his elves hand out candy canes to passengers. The train is always packed which should come as no surprise but it's worth the crowd. We have a blast riding it every year. The Holiday Train runs 3pm-7pm week days and 1pm -8pm weekends. Schedules for each train will vary.

Just a friendly reminder, you can catch the Holiday Train at the Damen Blue Line El Station (1558 N. Damen Avenue) the Division Blue Line El Station (1200 N. Milwaukee Avenue) or the Western Station (1900N. Western Avenue).  A more detailed schedule will be published when it becomes available.
