Chicago's Parking Ban Now in Effect 2017-2018

December 1, 2017

Beginning in the wee hours tonight (early tomorrow morning), the City of Chicago will start enforcing the Winter Parking bans for 2016-2017 on major streets.

Please note. There are two different types of bans:
The Winter Overnight Parking Ban includes Milwaukee Avenue through all of Wicker Park & Bucktown and Division Street through Wicker Park. The parking bans extend into the surrounding neighborhoods as well. Effective at 3am December 1st, this parking ban is in effect at all times (from 3am-7am) throughout the city until April 1st. You are not permitted to park on these streets overnight and you will be ticketed.

The Snow Route Ban goes into effect on all major streets and pertains to a 'no parking' ban when it snows 2" or more.

Tickets for violations are $200+ and you can be towed for a minimum of $150. Be sure to read those streets signs when you park and be extra careful when you're parking overnight not only in Wicker Park and Bucktown but throughout the Chicago area.
