Looking for a way to give back to your community? There are several opportunities for you to do so this week.

Chicago Police Department- Big budget cuts to the Chicago Police Department in 2016 have not only resulted in cutbacks in staff. They've also been given such small budgets this year, they can't afford minor expenditures including office supplies.

If you would like to make a contribution to help the 14th District of the Chicago Police Department help to buy office supplies and/or repair and maintain their office equipment, you can do so via the Go Fund Me page established by the Bucktown Community Organization. Every donation is appreciated no matter how small.

Wicker Ice Fundraisers - The community-sponsored ice skating rink will be heading back to Wicker Park in December. Located in the park at 1425 N. Damen Avenue the ice rink will be installed on December 2nd and December 3rd, 2016 and the official opening date will be determined based on weather and temperatures.

If you would like to contribute to the $20,000 goal for the rink this year there are 2 fundraisers being hosted in the area this week. Proceeds will be donated to Wicker Ice.

Beginning tonight, October 12, 2016, a fundraiser is being hosted by Bar Deville located at 701 N. Damen Avenue. The fundraiser will be hosted from 6:30pm-1am and will feature the season opener for the Chicago Blackhawks. In addition, there will be a raffle for a pair of Blackhawk tickets, Hat Trick DVD Giveaways and plenty of drink specials. There is no cost for admission.

On Saturday October 15, 2016 Sportsman's Club at 948 N. Western Avenue is also hosting a fundraiser from 3pm-6pm. This fundraiser includes: food, drink, silent auctions and raffles. Admission Fees for this event are as follows: Adults (with food and drink) - $20, Adults (food only)- $10, Children (ages 5 - 21) $5 and Children under 5 years of age are free.
