Wicker Wire: This just in. According to an announcement published on the Bucktown Neighborhood Watch Facebook page, a suspect who may be the Bucktown "creeper", has been arrested and is currently in police custody.
As a reminder, the Bucktown "creeper" has been committing home invasions; breaking into residents' homes and stealing their belongings while they were sleeping in their homes. Most notably, the "creeper" stood on the 2nd floor of a Bucktown home while the residents and 2 dogs slept in the living room below. Video footage caught him in the act.
A suspect involved in a recent area theft was arrested Wednesday. Currently, there is speculation that he is also the Bucktown "creeper". Formal charges are pending. This arrest is the direct result of the hard work of the Bucktown Community Organization, the Wicker Park & Bucktown residential communities and the Chicago Police Department.
This has been a great community effort spearheaded by Bucktown Community Organization President Steve Jensen. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
