On September 11, 2016 it was reported by many news outlets that a 25-year-old man had been shot in Bucktown. According to the original reports, the man went out drinking for the evening, passed out, went home and realized he had been shot in the chest as he was taking a shower. Many would agree that a lot of information was missing from those reports.
So the details of that incident include the following. On September 11, 2016 a 25-year-old Bucktown resident was walking home from a neighborhood bar at approximately 3:00am when he was involved in an attempted robbery. The 2 suspects approached the victim in an alley West of Damen Avenue between Charleston and Dickens. They shot the Bucktown resident in the chest at that time. The incident was captured on video through private security camera footage. The victim may have gone into shock (vs passing out) following the shooting. A significant amount of blood was found in the alley and on the sidewalks. He did, however, make it home and eventually to a hospital where he was listed in good condition.
The suspects involved in this shooting and attempted robbery are described as follows:
One black male approximately 5'7, 145 lbs, relatively thin with short black hair, wearing plain black hoodie, black pants and black high tops or boots armed with a silver/chrome handgun. One white/latino approximately 5'7, 155 pounds, wearing jeans with a navy blue "Just Do It" Nike hoody with white high tops. He was also armed with a handgun. It's believed a third offender was driving a red 4 door sedan Focus.
The photo of the 2 suspects was obtained via the security camera footage in the alley just before the shooting occurred. If you can identify these men, please contact the Chicago Police Department at (312)744-8290.
